Girls’ rights gains ‘slow, fragile and unequal

According to a new report by Plan International, significant human rights breaches still affect girls growing up today, with little progress since 10 years ago.

The COVID-19 pandemic, the climate crisis, armed conflict, and the rise of right-wing politics, among other factors, have all seriously impeded the advancement of girls' rights, according to a report released on the 10th annual International Day of the Girl, a day honoring the significance of girls' rights. While it must be acknowledged that the International Day of the Girl played a significant part in bringing attention to issues impacting girls and their rights and that much more needs to be done,
